Language and cultural training

The Centre’s approach allows participants to not only improve their linguistic skills but also to understand and react to implicit messages. Moreover, we help participants adjust speech and writing to their audience by acquiring a good command of their “business” language and expected skills. Going beyond the complexity of foreign language is key when it comes to reaching goals and becoming more pro-active in business situations. Based on the need analysis, the skill assessment, and the client’s objectives, we may emphasize on one or more of the following elements during our courses.

Vortex Language and Cultural Training offers training for companies and organizations, as well as assessment solutions. We develop individual and group courses to be delivered in various formats; chosen learning methods are based on the principle of blended learning; providing face-to-face and online teaching and support. We believe indeed that a combination of learning elements will be dynamic, lively, modern, rewarding and therefore highly motivated for our learners. We strongly believe that each participant is the owner of his or her learning and development process.

Our programs are designed for professionals who need to develop their language and communication skills in various languages. Vortex Language Training programmes can address the needs of anyone within an organization who is expected to communicate with clients or other employees successfully in any language. We take into account the actual training needs in every case and we develop solutions that satisfy language specific requirements and terminology in most of the industries through customized glossaries inserted into the language program. We also adapt our curricula accordingly, in order to assure maximum return of investment for our clients. Participants include executives and employees with various roles from many industries, including: legal, life sciences, business, hospitality, advertising/marketing, retail and commerce.

A customized private program has the advantage that the training can be fully geared to your personal learning goals. You have the trainer’s full attention and the lessons are organized to fit in with your schedule. The lesson schedule also remains flexible. Training sessions with one or more colleagues, on the other hand, offer the advantage that you can practice with other students in a realistic setting. Group training can also be interesting from a cost point of view. In addition, we can offer courses through virtual classes.That can come in very handy when you simply do not know in advance when you will have time for a training session.

Location, irregular schedules and the nature of modern work sometimes make face-to-face courses not suitable for language training. This is why we propose virtual courses, in individual or group format, where our teachers meet online with the learners to provide them with high level training. Our virtual courses are offered online in a platform that is accessible from any location and is device independent (accessible in any OS system and mobile platform environment –MacOS, Windows, iOS and Android), and easy to use. Courses can be recorded and made available to all participants for review, including those who might not have managed to attend in real time. Virtual courses are complemented with online exercises, study material, educational videos posted on the same platform.

Training can be organized wherever you wish – your schedule determines what form the training takes – once a week for two hours, all day for two whole weeks, it is all up to you. It is also possible to take lessons via e-conferencing or webcam. Vortex Language Centre has all modern means of communication at its disposal to make training as easy as possible for our students.

English for specific purposes (ESP) is a subset of English as a second or foreign language. It usually refers to teaching the English language to university students or people already in employment, with reference to the particular vocabulary and skills they need. As with any language taught for specific purposes, a given course of ESP will focus on one occupation or profession, such as Technical English, Scientific English, English for medical professionals, English for waiters, English for tourism, etc. Despite the seemingly limited focus, a course of ESP can have a wide-ranging impact, as is the case with Environmental English.English for academic purposes, taught to students before or during their degrees, is one sort of ESP, as is Business English.
